• Design, implement, and test new features for our customer-facing software, including our portal (my.filu) and mobile app, enhancing the user experience for pet owners.
• Develop and improve filuOS, our internal software for veterinary staff, with the goal of streamlining workflows and increasing efficiency in veterinary practices.
• Conduct code reviews and provide regular feedback to other developers.
• Collaborate on product decisions and contribute to the design process.
• Work around limitations, finding innovative solutions to complex problems.
• Work closely with a small, highly collaborative team of senior engineers and an experienced technical product manager.
• Implement aesthetically pleasing, user-centric interfaces that align with our brand.
• Drive projects from idea to completion without requiring a step-by-step guide.

• You have strong experience working with TypeScript, React, and Node.js (equivalent to about 5 years, not necessarily in a traditional work setting)
• You know how to effectively use TypeScript and are comfortable with its nuances.
• You are experienced with React and understand common pitfalls and best practices.
• You are comfortable with databases, backend principles, and general software architecture patterns.
• Experience with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, TRPC, Postgres, and React Native is a plus but not required.
• You have an interest in digitizing processes to improve efficiency and user experiences.
• You don’t just grind task after task—you care about the product, are proactive in contributing ideas, and want to be involved in the bigger picture.
• You are comfortable with a remote work environment, but also thrive in a team that values active collaboration and real-time interaction when needed.
• You enjoy collaborating across teams, including non-engineers like vets, service staff, and designers, to define and implement new features
• You can balance the need to move fast with ensuring quality and long-term maintainability.
• You are fluent English. German is a strong plus.

Our interview process is conducted entirely remotely and is comprised of three stages

1. Initial Meet & Greet (approx. 30 min)
If your application aligns with our requirements, we invite you for a casual video call with one of our senior software developers. We'll discuss your skills and experiences, introduce our team and the role we're offering, and answer any questions you might have.

2. Technical Interview & Live Coding Session (approx. 1 hr)
Our senior developers are eager to see your skills and creativity. You'll discuss past experiences, strategize on role-related scenarios, and demonstrate your practical abilities in a live coding session.

3. Founding Team Meetings (approx. 30 min each)
Wrapping up, we'll arrange relaxed one-on-one chats with our founding team members. We'll discuss our values, vision, and culture, to help us both understand if we're a great fit for each other.
